Tree geek and remote sensing fanatic learning to be a BCP (Disaster Recovery) expert who has just gotten her act back together. Determined to have a good year. The non-fun portions of the last couple of years should smooth themselves out. Jamming in more SCA and as many other "misspent youth" type activities as possible. Figuring out what I like to do. As a member of the SCA I hit and get hit with sticks and get cut to ribbons on the fencing field and try to do the same to my fellows. I have a cat named Shadow. I am working on some Japanese themed scribal commissions. I am working on converting over to a Japanese persona in the SCA, which allows me to indulge my multiple interests as I retool my garb, my armor, all of my kit. The Main Points of the to do list: 2. Move out of my parents (there is a plan). 3. Finish my Masters Thesis. (After 2.5 years of waiting, it just isn't going to write itself.) :) 4. Fight a Crown this year. On Hold Until 2008 Why do I want to fight Crown? It gives me a benchmark against the best fighters in the Kingdom of Atlantia. Right now I know I don't have the one on one skills to win, but I want to develop the one on one skills to make 4-5 fights at Crown before being eliminated. Eventually I would like to get to the semi-finals. This means: 1. attending practice---planned and started \ Bringing myself up to Atlantian 2. working out---planned and started--------/ Heavy fighter standard. 3. bringing my kit up to Atlantian standards -- started 4. making it to events---planned. 5. finding a consort Fighting Crowns without a chance of winning also means I can fight and get used to the adrenaline and the level of competition at these things so when my skills get there it isn't a mystery and I lose because it is a surprise. It will be just a highly competitive tournament instead of completely novel. My first Crown all the prep in the world wouldn't have gotten me past my second fight. It was just too novel and the excitement/shyness I had to battle to get through getting my AOA on the field was just too, too much. After that. . .I followed my plan, but then completely forgot how to fight leftys and Dukes and bought it. This year I hope to make 3 fights and 5 would be ideal. | |||||
